NCBI Description

This gene encodes a zinc finger protein that functions as a regulator of chromosome segregation in mitosis. The encoded protein is required for correct alignment of chromosomes on the metaphase plate, and plays a role in maintaining the attachment of sister kinetochores to microtubules from opposite spindle poles. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal dominant mental retardation-40. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]

Uniprot Description

ZNF828: Required for proper alignment of chromosomes at metaphase and their accurate segregation during mitosis. Involved in the maintenance of spindle microtubules attachment to the kinetochore during sister chromatid biorientation. May recruit CENPE and CENPF to the kinetochore.

Protein type: C2H2-type zinc finger protein; RNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 13q34

Cellular Component: condensed chromosome; nucleoplasm; nucleus; spindle

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: attachment of spindle microtubules to kinetochore during mitosis; sister chromatid biorientation

Disease: Mental Retardation, Autosomal Dominant 40

Product Notes

The cAMP champ1 (Catalog #AAA5307977) is a Hapten Conjugate and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's cAMP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunoassays. Reccomended Dilution Factor: 1/320 when used in a competitive immunoassay with antibody 20-1374. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the cAMP champ1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "cAMP, Hapten Conjugate" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
