Background/Introduction: Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is a biotin-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the irreversible carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to produce malonyl-CoA through its two catalytic activities, biotin carboxylase (BC) and carboxyltransferase (CT). ACC is a multi-subunit enzyme in most prokaryotes and in the chloroplasts of most plants and algae, whereas it is a large, multi-domain enzyme in the endoplasmic reticulum of most eukaryotes. The most important function of ACC is to provide the malonyl-CoA substrate for the biosynthesis of fatty acids. The activity of ACC can be controlled at the transcriptional level as well as by small molecule modulators and covalent modification. Acetyl-CoA carboxylase can react with acetyl-CoA and ATP, the products are malonyl-CoA, ADP and inorganic phosphorus. The Acetyl-CoA carboxylase activity will be determined by the increase of inorganic phosphorus. At the end of the reaction period, the dye reagent forms a color with released phosphate, which is measured on a plate reader 635 nm.
Product Notes
The General Acid Phosphatase phoa (Catalog #
AAA822357) is an Assay Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA822357 Assay Kit recognizes General Acid Phosphatase. AAA Biotech's Acid Phosphatase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Functional Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Acid Phosphatase phoa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"Acid Phosphatase, Assay Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
