Materials Provided
1. Capture Antibody 0.5 mg/mL of rabbit anti-Human Vasorin/VASN monoclonal antibody (in PBS, pH 7.4). Dilute to a working concentration of 2ug/mL in PBS before coating.
2. Detection Antibody 0.2 mg/mL of rabbit anti-Human Vasorin/VASN monoclonal antibody conjugated to horseradish-peroxidase (HRP) (in PBS, 50 % HRP-Protector, pH 7.4, store at 4 degree C). Dilute to working concentration of 0.5ug/mL in detection antibody dilution buffer before use.
3. Standard Each vial contains 46 ng of recombinant Human Vasorin/VASN. Reconstitute with 1 mL detection antibody dilution buffer. After reconstitution, store at -20 degree C to -80 degree C in a manual defrost freezer. A seven-point standard curve using 2-fold serial dilutions in sample dilution buffer, and a high standard of 1500 pg/mL is recommended.

Preparation and Storage
Capture Antibody: Aliquot and store at -20 degree C to -80 degree C for up to 6 months from date of receipt. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Detection Antibody: Store at 4 degree C and protect it from prolonged exposure to light for up to 6 months from date of receipt. DO NOT FREEZE!
Standard: Store lyophilized standard at -20 degree C to -80 degree C for up to 6 months from date of receipt. Aliquot and store the reconstituted Standard at -80 degree C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Vasorin is a typical type I membrane protein. It contains 1 EGF-like domain, 1 fibronectin type-III domain, 10 LRR (leucine-rich) repeats, 1 LRRCT domain and 1 LRRNT domain. Vasorin is predominantly expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells, and that its expression is developmentally regulated. vasorin It directly binds to transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta and attenuates TGF-beta signaling in vitro. This suggests that down-regulation of vasorin expression contributes to neointimal formation after vascular injury and that vasorin modulates cellular responses to pathological stimuli in the vessel wall.
