Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence is selected from aa 256-270 of HUMAN DSTYK
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
929
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Cell membrane. Apical cell membrane. Basolateral cell membrane. Cell junction. Note: Detected at apical cell-cell junctions. Colocalized with FGF receptors to the cell membrane (By similarity). Detected in basolateral and apical membranes of all tubular epithelia.
Tissue Location
Predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle and testis. Expressed in basolateral and apical membranes of all tubular epithelia. Expressed in thin ascending limb of the loop of Henle and the distal convoluted tubule. Expressed in all layers of transitional ureteric epithelium and in the ureteric smooth-muscle cells. Weakly expressed in heart, brain, placenta, kidney, pancreas, spleen, thymus, prostate, uterus, small intestine, white blood cells, stomach, spinal cord and adrenal gland. Is widely distributed in the CNS. Also detected in several tumor cell lines
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a dual serine/threonine and tyrosine protein kinase which is expressed in multiple tissues. It is thought to function as a regulator of cell death. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]

Uniprot Description

DSTYK: a serine/threonine protein kinase of the 'Other-Unique' family, most closely related to kinases of the TKL family including IRAK and RIPK. Overexpression induces apoptotic cell death. The caspase inhibitor crmA apparently blocks DNA fragmentation but not apoptosis, suggesting that SgK496 may induce both caspase-dependent apoptosis and caspase-independent cell death. Four alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The DSTYK dstyk (Catalog #AAA9230214) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DSTYK, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
