Related Product Information for EPO active protein
EPO, also known as erythropoietin, is a glycoprotein hormone in the type I cytokine family and is related to thrombopoietin. It is primarily produced in the kidney by a population of fibroblast-like cortical interstitial cells adjacent to the proximal tubules. This protein can be found in the plasma and regulates red cell production by promoting erythroid differentiation and initiating hemoglobin synthesis. It also has neuroprotective activity against a variety of potential brain injuries and anti-apoptotic functions in several tissue types. Recombinant mouse EPO, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Uniprot Description

EPO: Erythropoietin is the principal hormone involved in the regulation of erythrocyte differentiation and the maintenance of a physiological level of circulating erythrocyte mass. Genetic variation in EPO is associated with susceptbility to microvascular complications of diabetes type 2 (MVCD2). These are pathological conditions that develop in numerous tissues and organs as a consequence of diabetes mellitus. They include diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy leading to end-stage renal disease, and diabetic neuropathy. Diabetic retinopathy remains the major cause of new-onset blindness among diabetic adults. It is characterized by vascular permeability and increased tissue ischemia and angiogenesis. Belongs to the EPO/TPO family.

Product Notes

The EPO epo (Catalog #AAA201272) is an Active Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 27-192aa. AAA Biotech's Erythropoietin/EPO can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Bioactivity. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EPO epo for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MAPPR LI CDSRVLERYI LEAKEAENVT MGCAEGPRLS ENITVPDTKV NFYAWKRMEV EEQAIEVWQG LSLLSEAILQ AQALLANSSQ PPETLQLHID KAISGLRSLT SLLRVLGAQK ELMSPPDTTP PAPLRTLTVD TFCKLFRVYA NFLRGKLKLY TGEVCRRGDR . It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Erythropoietin/EPO, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
