Chicken Alkaline Phosphatase, Intestinal ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: iALP ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-iALP antibody and an iALP-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with iALP-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the iALP concentration since iALP from samples and iALP-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-iALP antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by iALP from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind iALP-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The iALP concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
There are at least four distinct but related alkaline phosphatases: intestinal, placental, placental-like, and liver/bone/kidney (tissue non-specific). The intestinal alkaline phosphatase gene encodes a digestive brush-border enzyme. This enzyme is upregulated during small intestinal epithelial cell differentiation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
ALPI: intestinal alkaline phosphatase is one of four related alkaline phosphatases. The exact physiological function of alkaline phosphatases is not known. This protein is a GPI-anchored membrane bound glycosylated enzyme that is localized to fetal and adult intestines.

Product Notes
The Chicken ALPI alpi (Catalog #AAA754592) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA754592 ELISA Kit recognizes Chicken ALPI. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alkaline Phosphatase, Intestinal, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
