Rat
Synonyms
Alkaline Phosphatase; Intestinal; Rat Alkaline Phosphatase; Intestinal (ALPI) ELISA Kit; ALPI elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Rat
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Rat ALPI. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat ALPI and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Rat ALPI and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Related Product Information for ALPI elisa kit
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of ALPI in Rat serum, plasma and other biological fluids
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat ALPI. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat ALPI and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat ALPI, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat ALPI. You can calculate the concentration of Rat ALPI in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

There are at least four distinct but related alkaline phosphatases: intestinal, placental, placental-like, and liver/bone/kidney (tissue non-specific). The intestinal alkaline phosphatase gene encodes a digestive brush-border enzyme. This enzyme is a component of the gut mucosal defense system and is thought to function in the detoxification of lipopolysaccharide, and in the prevention of bacterial translocation in the gut. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Uniprot Description

ALPI: intestinal alkaline phosphatase is one of four related alkaline phosphatases. The exact physiological function of alkaline phosphatases is not known. This protein is a GPI-anchored membrane bound glycosylated enzyme that is localized to fetal and adult intestines.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor; EC 3.1.3.1; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - folate biosynthesis; Phosphatase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q37.1

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protease binding; alkaline phosphatase activity; zinc ion binding; magnesium ion binding

Biological Process: dephosphorylation

Product Notes

The Rat ALPI alpi (Catalog #AAA2513685) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2513685 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat ALPI. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alkaline Phosphatase, Intestinal, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
