Materials Provided
1. Capture Antibody 1 mg/mL of rabbit anti-Human NGF/NGFB monoclonal antibody (in PBS, pH 7.4). Dilute to a working concentration of 2ug/mL in PBS before coating.
2. Detection Antibody 0.2 mg/mL of rabbit anti-Human NGF/NGFB polyclonal antibody conjugated to horseradish-peroxidase (HRP) (in PBS, 50 % HRP-Protector, pH 7.4, store at 4 degree C). Dilute to working concentration of 0.2ug/mL in Dilution Buffer before use.
3. Standard Each vial contains 5 ng of recombinant Human NGF/NGFB. Reconstitute with 1 mL Dilution Buffer. After reconstitution, store at -20 degree C to -80 degree C in a manual defrost freezer. A seven-point standard curve using 2-fold serial dilutions in Dilution Buffer, and a high standard of 100 pg/mL is recommended.

Preparation and Storage
Capture Antibody: Aliquot and store at -20 degree C to -80 degree C for up to 6 months from date of receipt. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Detection Antibody: Store at 4 degree C and protect it from prolonged exposure to light for up to 6 months from date of receipt. DO NOT FREEZE!
Standard: Store lyophilized standard at -20 degree C to -80 degree C for up to 6 months from date of receipt. Aliquot and store the reconstituted Standard at -80 degree C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Nerve growth factor (NGF) is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. NGF protein was identified as a large complex consisting of three non-covalently linked subunits, alpha, beta, and gamma, among which, the beta subunit, called beta-NGF (beta-NGF), was demonstrated to exhibits the growth-stimulating activity of NGF protein. NGFB/beta-NGF gene is a member of the NGF-beta family and encodes a secreted protein that homodimerizes and is incorporated into a larger complex. NGF protein acts via at least two receptors on the surface of cells (TrkA and p75 receptors) to regulate neuronal survival, promote neurite outgrowth, and up-regulate certain neuronal functions such as mediation of pain and inflammation. Also, previous studies indicated that NGF may also have an important role in the regulation of the immune system.
