Related Product Information for anti-LMX1B antibody
LMX1B Antibody: The LIM homeobox transcription factor 1B (LMX1B) belongs to the LIM-homeodomain family. Members of this family are known to be important for pattern formation during development. LMX1B regulates mid-hindbrain patterning; LMX1B-null mice embryos have a severe reduction in the number of midbrain dopaminergic neurons compared to wild-type. While LMX1B appears to be important for both the development and the survival of dopamine neurons, the related LMX1A is crucial for the differentiation of these cells. However, LMX1A and LMX1B function cooperatively to regulated the proliferation, specification and differentiation of midbrain dopaminergic neuronal progenitors.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of LIM-homeodomain family of proteins containing two N-terminal zinc-binding LIM domains, 1 homeodomain, and a C-terminal glutamine-rich domain. It functions as a transcription factor, and is essential for the normal development of dorsal limb structures, the glomerular basement membrane, the anterior segment of the eye, and dopaminergic and serotonergic neurons. Mutations in this gene are associated with nail-patella syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

LMX1B: Essential for the specification of dorsal limb fate at both the zeugopodal and autopodal levels. Defects in LMX1B are the cause of nail-patella syndrome (NPS); also known as onychoosteodysplasia. NPS is a disease that cause abnormal skeletal patterning and renal dysplasia. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The LMX1B lmx1b (Catalog #AAA153689) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The LMX1B Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LMX1B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). LMX1B antibody can be used for detection of LMX1B by Western blot at 1 - 2 mug/mL. Antibody can also be used for Immunohistochemistry starting at 5 mug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LMX1B lmx1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LMX1B, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
