Immunocytochemistry (ICC)
(Immunostaining analysis in HeLa cells. HeLa cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS. The cells were immunostained with anti-SOX6 mAb. [LotNo. 155C5a-1])
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the D subfamily of sex determining region y-related transcription factors that are characterized by a conserved DNA-binding domain termed the high mobility group box and by their ability to bind the minor groove of DNA. The encoded protein is a transcriptional activator that is required for normal development of the central nervous system, chondrogenesis and maintenance of cardiac and skeletal muscle cells. The encoded protein interacts with other family members to cooperatively activate gene expression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
Uniprot Description
SOX6: Transcriptional activator. Binds specifically to the DNA sequence 5'-AACAAT-3'. Plays a key role in several developmental processes, including neurogenesis and skeleton formation. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The SOX6 sox6 (Catalog #AAA120545) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse monoclonal antibody Anti-Human SOX6 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SOX6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Dot Blot (DB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SOX6 sox6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SOX6, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
