Related Product Information for anti-SCUBE1 antibody
SCUBE1 Antibody: SCUBE1 is an EGF-related protein with a CUB (C1s-like) domain that is expressed primarily in the developing gonad, nervous system, somites, surface ectoderm and limb buds. The N-terminal EGF-like repeats of SCUBE1 participate in the formation of adhesions in a Ca2+-dependent fashion. In contrast, the C-terminal cysteine-rich motifs and CUB domain can directly bind and antagonize bone morphogenic protein activity; genetic ablation of this region resulted in brain malformation in mice embryos, suggesting SCUBE1 plays a role in brain morphogenesis. SCUBE1 has also been implicated in early craniofacial development in mice.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein that is a member of the SCUBE (signal peptide, CUB domain, EGF (epidermal growth factor)-like protein) family. Family members have an amino-terminal signal peptide, nine copies of EGF-like repeats and a CUB domain at the carboxyl terminus. This protein is expressed in platelets and endothelial cells and may play an important role in vascular biology. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

Uniprot Description

SCUBE1: Could function as an adhesive molecule and its matrix bound and soluble fragments may play a critical role in vascular biology.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13

Cellular Component: extrinsic to plasma membrane; extracellular space; cell surface; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein heterodimerization activity; calcium ion binding

Biological Process: adult heart development; endothelial cell differentiation; blood coagulation; inflammatory response; protein homooligomerization; post-embryonic development

Product Notes

The SCUBE1 scube1 (Catalog #AAA151427) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SCUBE1 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SCUBE1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). SCUBE1 antibody can be used for detection of SCUBE1 by Western blot at 1 mug/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunocytochemistry starting at 20 mug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 ug/mL. Optimal dilutions for each application to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SCUBE1 scube1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SCUBE1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
