Related Product Information for anti-CASP4 antibody
Caspase-13 Antibody: Apoptosis is related to many diseases and induced by a family of cell death receptors and their ligands. Cell death is finally caused by members of the caspase family of proteases and caspase activated DNases. A novel member in the caspase family was recently identified and designated ERICE (for Evolutionarily Related Interleukin-1 beta Converting Enzyme) and caspase-13. Caspase-13 belongs to the ICE subfamily of caspases. Overexpression of caspase-13 induces apoptosis. Caspase-13 was activated by caspase-8, which is a key enzyme in death receptor induced apoptosis. Caspase-13 is expressed in a variety of human tissues and cell lines.

Uniprot Description

CASP4: Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves caspase-1. Heterotetramer that consists of two anti-parallel arranged heterodimers, each one formed by a small and a large subunit. Widely expressed, with highest levels in spleen and lung. Moderate expression in heart and liver, low expression in skeletal muscle, kidney and testis. Not found in the brain. Belongs to the peptidase C14A family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CASP4 casp13 (Catalog #AAA151066) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Caspase-13 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Caspase-13 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Caspase-13 antibody can be used for detection of caspase-13 by Western blot at 1 mug/mL. A 43 kDa band should be detected. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 10 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CASP4 casp13 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Caspase-13, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
