UGCGL1 Blocking Peptide | UGGT1 blocking peptide

UGCGL1 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
UGGT1; UGT1; HUGT1; UGCGL1
Synonyms
UGCGL1; UGCGL1 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide; UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase 1; UGT1; hUGT1; 241-; UDP--Glc:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase; UDP-glucose ceramide glucosyltransferase-like 1; UGGT1; UGGT1 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of UGCGL1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
1555
Cellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum lumen. Endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment
Tissue Location
Higher levels in pancreas, skeletal muscle, kidney, and brain. Low levels in lung and heart
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for UGGT1 blocking peptide
Recognizes glycoproteins with minor folding defects. Reglucosylates single N-glycans near the misfolded part of the protein, thus providing quality control for protein folding in the endoplasmic reticulum. Reglucosylated proteins are recognized by calreticulin for recycling to the endoplasmic reticulum and refolding or degradation.

NCBI Description

UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase (UGT) is a soluble protein of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) that selectively reglucosylates unfolded glycoproteins, thus providing quality control for protein transport out of the ER.[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2009]

Uniprot Description

UGCGL1: Recognizes glycoproteins with minor folding defects. Reglucosylates single N-glycans near the misfolded part of the protein, thus providing quality control for protein folding in the endoplasmic reticulum. Reglucosylated proteins are recognized by calreticulin for recycling to the endoplasmic reticulum and refolding or degradation. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 8 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 2.4.1.-; Transferase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q14.3

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum; endoplasmic reticulum lumen; ER-Golgi intermediate compartment

Molecular Function: protein binding; UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase activity; unfolded protein binding

Biological Process: 'de novo' posttranslational protein folding

Product Notes

The UGGT1 uggt1 (Catalog #AAA9219696) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UGCGL1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
