Related Product Information for LIGHT recombinant protein
LIGHT belongs to the TNF family of ligands, and can signal through the herpes virus entry mediator type A receptor (HVEM, TNFRSF14), LTbetaR, or bind to a decoy receptor, DcR3. It is expressed in splenocytes, activated PBL, CD+8 tumor infiltrating lymphocytes, granulocytes, and monocytes. LIGHT has the ability to active NFkB, to co-stimulate the activation of lymphocytes and to induce apoptosis in certain human tumor cells. Recombinant murine LIGHT is a 20.1 kDa protein containing 183 amino acid residues.

Uniprot Description

TNFSF14: Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF3/LTBR. Binding to the decoy receptor TNFRSF6B modulates its effects. Activates NFKB, stimulates the proliferation of T-cells, and inhibits growth of the adenocarcinoma HT-29. Acts as a receptor for Herpes simplex virus. Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytokine; Membrane protein, integral; Inhibitor

Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: caspase inhibitor activity; cytokine activity; tumor necrosis factor receptor binding; receptor binding

Biological Process: release of cytoplasmic sequestered NF-kappaB; T cell costimulation; immune response; negative regulation of caspase activity; positive regulation of myoblast differentiation

Product Notes

The LIGHT tnfsf14 (Catalog #AAA695758) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Murine LIGHT reacts with Species Reactivity: Mouse Cross Reactivity: Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MRLHQRLGD IVAHLPDGG KGSWEKLIQ DQRSHQANP AAHLTGANA SLIGIGGPL LWETRLGLA FLRGLTYHD GALVTMEPG YYYVYSKVQ LSGVGCPQG LANGLPITH GLYKRTSRY PKELELLVS RRSPCGRAN SSRVWWDSS FLGGVVHLE AGEEVVVRV PGNRLVRPR DGTRSYFGA FMV. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LIGHT, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
