Related Product Information for TM4SF1 recombinant protein
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface antigen and is highly expressed in different carcinomas.

Uniprot Description

TM4SF1: a multi-pass membrane protein. Member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. These proteins apparently mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This protein is highly expressed in lung, breast, colon and ovarian carcinomas. It is also present on some normal cells, endothelial cells in particular. Present in high molecular weight complexes in tumor cells.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q21-q25

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane

Product Notes

The TM4SF1 tm4sf1 (Catalog #AAA188286) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEK293 cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: hFc (Glu99-Ala 330) + TM4SF1 (Leu115-Se r161). It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TM4SF1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
