Selection and upkeep of intraepithelial T-cells protein 1 (Skint1) Recombinant Protein | Skint1 recombinant protein
Recombinant Mouse Selection and upkeep of intraepithelial T-cells protein 1 (Skint1)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: May act by engaging a cell surface molecule on immature T-cells in the embryonic thymus. Plays a central role in mediating key epithelial-immune interactions by being involved in the selection of Vgamma5+Vdelta1+ T-cells, which constitute 90% of epidermal gammadelta T-cells. Ref.1
Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Potential.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in skin and thymus. Ref.1
Polymorphism: The strain FVB/NTac displays a selective deficiency for epidermal Vgamma5+Vdelta1+ T-cells due to a mutation that creates premature codon stop at position 324.
Miscellaneous: Encoded by one of the 11 copies of Skint genes clustered in the D1 region of the chromosome 4.The human orthologous protein family seems not to exist.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the SKINT family.Contains 1 Ig-like C1-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain.Contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Selection and upkeep of intraepithelial T-cells protein 1 (Skint1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
