Related Product Information for CASP11 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Sheep CASP11 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to CASP11. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for CASP11 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain CASP11, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of CASP11. You can calculate the concentration of CASP11 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a caspase that is involved in apoptosis, cell migration, and the inflammatory response. Although its official nomenclature is Casp4, caspase 4, apoptosis-related cysteine peptidase, this gene and its encoded protein have historically been called caspase 11. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

Uniprot Description

CASP4: Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves caspase-1. Heterotetramer that consists of two anti-parallel arranged heterodimers, each one formed by a small and a large subunit. Widely expressed, with highest levels in spleen and lung. Moderate expression in heart and liver, low expression in skeletal muscle, kidney and testis. Not found in the brain. Belongs to the peptidase C14A family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Protease; Apoptosis; EC 3.4.22.64

Cellular Component: neuron projection; protein complex; cell soma; membrane; mitochondrion; endoplasmic reticulum; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: peptidase activity; hydrolase activity; cysteine-type peptidase activity

Biological Process: regulation of apoptosis; apoptosis; regulation of inflammatory response; germ cell programmed cell death; actin filament organization; positive regulation of interleukin-1 beta secretion; proteolysis

Product Notes

The Sheep CASP11 casp4 (Catalog #AAA2514757) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2514757 ELISA Kit recognizes Sheep CASP11. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CASP11, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
