Intended Uses: This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Sulfiredoxin-1 concentrations in serum, Plasma, tissue homogenates and Cell culture supernates and Other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay||The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Sulfiredoxin-1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for Sulfiredoxin-1 and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Sulfiredoxin-1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of Sulfiredoxin-1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

SRXN1: Contributes to oxidative stress resistance by reducing cysteine-sulfinic acid formed under exposure to oxidants in the peroxiredoxins PRDX1, PRDX2, PRDX3 and PRDX4. Does not act on PRDX5 or PRDX6. May catalyze the reduction in a multi-step process by acting both as a specific phosphotransferase and a thioltransferase. Belongs to the sulfiredoxin family.

Protein type: Oxidoreductase; EC 1.8.98.2

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: antioxidant activity; ATP binding; nucleotide binding; oxidoreductase activity; oxidoreductase activity, acting on sulfur group of donors; sulfiredoxin activity

Biological Process: response to oxidative stress

Product Notes

The Mouse Srxn1 srxn1 (Catalog #AAA289502) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA289502 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse Srxn1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Sulfiredoxin-1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
