General PAI-1 functional assay ELISA Kit | SERPINE1 elisa kit
Active rabbit PAI-1 functional assay ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: Functionally active PAI-1 present in plasma reacts with urokinase coated and dried on a microtiter plate. Latent or complexed PAI-1 will not bind to the plate and will not be detected. Unbound PAI-1 samples are washed away and an anti-PAI-1 primary antibody is added. Excess primary antibody is washed away and bound antibody, which is proportional to the original active PAI-1 present in the samples, is then reacted with the horseradish peroxidase conjugated secondary antibody. Following an additional washing step, TMB substrate solution is then used for color development at 450nm. The amount of color development is directly proportional to the concentration of active PAI-1 in the sample.
Background: PAI-1 plays an important role in fibrinolysis and is a reported risk factor for cardiovascular disease [4]. Increased levels of PAI-1 tend to augment in the presence of proinsulin and insulin [3,5].
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: Serine protease inhibitor. This inhibitor acts as 'bait' for tissue plasminogen activator, urokinase, protein C and matriptase-3/TMPRSS7. Its rapid interaction with PLAT may function as a major control point in the regulation of fibrinolysis
By similarity.
Subunit structure: Forms protease inhibiting heterodimer with TMPRSS7. Interacts with VTN. Binds LRP1B; binding is followed by internalization and degradation
By similarity.
Subcellular location: Secreted.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the serpin family.

Product Notes
The General SERPINE1 serpine1 (Catalog #AAA135497) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA135497 ELISA Kit recognizes General SERPINE1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PAI-1 functional assay, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
