Related Product Information for anti-Tuba1a antibody
Description: Mouse IgG monoclonal antibody for alpha-Tubulin detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in Human, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins. Uniprot ID: Q13748
Background: Alpha-tubulin(b-alpha-1) mRNA is expressed only in brain with a molecular weight of about 55,000. The 3-prime UTR of b-alpha-1 is more than 80% homologous to the UTR of the rat brain alpha-tubulin gene, IL-alpha-T1. B-alpha-1 encodes a predicted 451-amino acid protein that is 100% identical to the rat homolog and differs by only 2 and 3 amino acids from the pig and chicken homologs, respectively.

NCBI Description

forms heterodimers with beta-tubulin; acts as a structural component of the microtubule cytoskeleton; plays a role in microtubule-based processes [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

TUBA1A: Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. Dimer of alpha and beta chains. Expressed at a high level in fetal brain. Belongs to the tubulin family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal

Cellular Component: microtubule; recycling endosome; cytoplasmic microtubule; nucleus; myelin sheath

Molecular Function: GTPase activity; protein domain specific binding; protein binding; GTP binding; structural constituent of cytoskeleton; protein heterodimerization activity

Biological Process: protein polymerization; metabolic process; microtubule-based process

Product Notes

The Tuba1a tuba1a (Catalog #AAA175012) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-alpha-Tubulin antibody (monoclonal) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's alpha-Tubulin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Tuba1a tuba1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "alpha-Tubulin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
