Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-S100A7 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-S100A7 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the S100A7 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of S100A7 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein differs from the other S100 proteins of known structure in its lack of calcium binding ability in one EF-hand at the N-terminus. The protein is overexpressed in hyperproliferative skin diseases, exhibits antimicrobial activities against bacteria and induces immunomodulatory activities. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]

Uniprot Description

S100A7: is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. This protein is markedly over-expressed in the skin lesions of psoriatic patients, but is excluded as a candidate gene for familial psoriasis susceptibility. The exact function of this protein is not known. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Human S100A7 s100a7 (Catalog #AAA764372) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA764372 ELISA Kit recognizes Human S100A7. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein S100-A7, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
