Rat Synaptotagmin-Like Protein 4 (SYTL4) ELISA Kit | SYTL4 elisa kit
Rat Synaptotagmin-Like Protein 4 (SYTL4) ELISA Kit
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Background: SYTL4 encodes a member of the synaptotagmin like protein family. Members of this family are characterized by an N-terminal Rab27 binding domain and C-terminal tandem C2 domains. The encoded protein binds specific small Rab GTPases and is involved in intracellular membrane trafficking. This protein binds Rab27 and may be involved in inhibiting dense core vesicle exocytosis. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
binds small GTP-binding protein Rab3 and SNARE-binding protein Munc-18; plays a role in pancreatic beta cell exocytosis; may also be involved in secretory vesicle docking [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Function: Modulates exocytosis of dense-core granules and secretion of hormones in the pancreas and the pituitary. Interacts with vesicles containing negatively charged phospholipids in a Ca2+-independent manner
By similarity.
Subunit structure: Part of a ternary complex containing STX1A and RAB27A. Can bind both dominant negative and dominant active mutants of RAB27A. Binds STXBP1, RAB3A, RAB8A and RAB27B
By similarity.
Subcellular location: Membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cytoplasmic vesicle › secretory vesicle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Note: Detected close to the plasma membrane and on secretory granules. In pancreas, interacts with insulin-containing vesicles. Ref.1
Tissue specificity: Detected in insulin-secreting cell lines.
Sequence similarities: Contains 2 C2 domains.Contains 1 FYVE-type zinc finger.Contains 1 RabBD (Rab-binding) domain.

Product Notes
The Rat SYTL4 sytl4 (Catalog #AAA9711778) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9711778 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat SYTL4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Synaptotagmin-Like Protein 4 (SYTL4), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
