Related Product Information for anti-SOX-4 antibody
SOX6 gene encodes a member of the D subfamily of sex determining region y-related transcription factors that are characterized by a conserved DNA-binding domain termed the high mobility group box and by their ability to bind the minor groove of DNA. SOX6 protein is a transcriptional activator that is specifically expressed in the developing central nervous system and in the early stages of chondrogenesis in mouse embryos. It is found to be essential to both cartilage formation/chondrogenesis and obesity-related insulin resistance. The SOX6 protein is also detected in glioma patient sera and brain tissues.

NCBI Description

This intronless gene encodes a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional regulator after forming a protein complex with other proteins, such as syndecan binding protein (syntenin). The protein may function in the apoptosis pathway leading to cell death as well as to tumorigenesis and may mediate downstream effects of parathyroid hormone (PTH) and PTH-related protein (PTHrP) in bone development. The solution structure has been resolved for the HMG-box of a similar mouse protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The SOX-4 sox4 (Catalog #AAA460381) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti SOX-4 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SOX-4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: 0.01-0.1 ug/ml Flow Cytometry: 5-10 ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 2-10 ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 2-5 ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-1 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SOX-4 sox4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SOX-4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
