NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 60S subunit. The protein belongs to the L2P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in the cytoplasm. In rat, the protein associates with the 5.8S rRNA, very likely participates in the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA, and is a constituent of the elongation factor 2-binding site at the ribosomal subunit interface. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein exist. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene dispersed through the genome. [provided by RefSeq]

Product Notes
The RPL8 rpl8 (Catalog #AAA629812) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Ribosomal Protein L8 (60S Ribosomal Protein L8, L8, RPL8) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Ribosomal Protein L8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry Dilution: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:128,000 Western Blot: 0.01-0.03ug/ml ~28-30kD band observed in lysates of cell line HepG2 (calculated MW of 28.0kD according to NP_000964.1 and NP_150644.1) Immunohistochemistry: 2-4ug/ml In paraffin embedded Human Cerebral Cortex shows cytoplasm staining, including axons, of stallate and pyramidal cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RPL8 rpl8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ribosomal Protein L8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
