Related Product Information for anti-PTPN20A antibody
The product of this gene belongs to the family of
classical tyrosine-specific protein tyrosine phosphatases. Many
protein tyrosine phosphatases have been shown to regulate
fundamental cellular processes and several are mutated in human
diseases. Chromosome 10q contains a segmental duplication resulting
in multiple copies of the protein tyrosine phosphatase,
non-receptor type 20 gene. The two nearly identical copies are
designated as PTPN20A and PTPN20B. A third copy is only partially
duplicated and contains a pseudogene, designated as PTPN20C. This
gene encodes the more telomeric copy, PTPN20B. Multiple
alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different
isoforms have been identified.

NCBI Description

The product of this gene belongs to the family of classical tyrosine-specific protein tyrosine phosphatases. Many protein tyrosine phosphatases have been shown to regulate fundamental cellular processes. The encoded protein appears to be targeted to sites of actin polymerization. A pseudogene of this gene has been defined on chromosome 10. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]

Uniprot Description

PTPN20A: Tyrosine-protein phosphatase targeted to sites of actin polymerization in response of varied extracellular stimuli. Has tyrosine phosphatase activity towards various tyrosyl phosphorylated substrates. Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Non-receptor class subfamily. 15 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cancer Testis Antigen (CTA); Protein phosphatase, tyrosine (non-receptor); EC 3.1.3.48

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q11.22

Cellular Component: microtubule; cytoplasm; microtubule organizing center; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein tyrosine phosphatase activity

Product Notes

The PTPN20A ptpn20 (Catalog #AAA9206867) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 178-207. The PTPN20A Antibody (Center) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PTPN20A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PTPN20A ptpn20 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PTPN20A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
