Prostate-derived Ets Factor; Polyclonal Antibody; Prostate-derived Ets Factor (PDEF); Anti -Prostate-derived Ets Factor (PDEF); anti-SPDEF antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Human
Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
Specific for human PDEF. On Western blots, it identifies a single band at ~37.5kD using LNCAP lysates. There is also a weak band at ~55kD which may be due to the glycosylated form of PDEF. Reactivity has been confirmed with human LNCAP prostate carcinoma cell lysates.
Purity/Purification
Purified
Purified by epitope affinity chromatography.
Form/Format
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% sodium azide.
Applicable Applications for anti-SPDEF antibody
ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Dilution: ELISA: 0.1-1ug/ml
Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide derived from the internal region of human PDEF (prostate-derived Ets factor).
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-SPDEF antibody
PDEF (prostate-derived Ets factor) is a 37.5-kD protein that acts as an androgen-independent transcriptional activator for the PSA (prostate specific antigen) promoter. It also interacts directly with the DNA binding domain of androgen receptor and enhances androgen-mediated activation of the PSA promoter. PDEF was shown to have transcript levels 192-fold higher in the peripheral blood of some breast cancer patients in comparison with normal individuals. PDEF mRNA is also

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ETS family of transcription factors. It is highly expressed in the prostate epithelial cells, and functions as an androgen-independent transactivator of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) promoter. Higher expression of this protein has also been reported in brain, breast, lung and ovarian tumors, compared to the corresponding normal tissues, and it shows better tumor-association than other cancer-associated molecules, making it a more suitable target for developing specific cancer therapies. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]

Uniprot Description

SPDEF: May function as an androgen-independent transactivator of the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) promoter. Binds to 5'-GGAT- 3' DNA sequences. May play a role in the regulation of the prostate gland and/or prostate cancer development. Acts as a transcriptional activator for SERPINB5 promoter. Belongs to the ETS family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Nuclear receptor co-regulator; Transcription factor; DNA-binding

Product Notes

The SPDEF spdef (Catalog #AAA611934) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Prostate-derived Ets Factor (PDEF) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Prostate-derived Ets Factor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 0.1-1ug/ml Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPDEF spdef for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Prostate-derived Ets Factor, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
