NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
voltage gated potassium channel; functions as a delayed rectifier K+ channel [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Function: This protein mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a potassium-selective channel through which potassium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient.
Subunit structure: Heteromultimer with KCNG3, KCNG4 and KCNV2
By similarity.
Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue specificity: Brain.
Domain: The segment S4 is probably the voltage-sensor and is characterized by a series of positively charged amino acids at every third position. The tail may be important in modulation of channel activity and/or targeting of the channel to specific subcellular compartments.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the potassium channel family. C (Shaw) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv3.1/KCNC1 sub-subfamily. [View classification]

Product Notes
The KCNC1 kcnc1 (Catalog #AAA502105) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Phospho-Ser503 Kv3.1, Voltage-Gated, Potassium Channel reacts with Rat, mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Potassium Channel, Voltage-Gated, Kv3.1 Subunit (Ser503) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot. WB: 1:1000 IHC (frozen sections; unpublished observations): 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KCNC1 kcnc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Potassium Channel, Voltage-Gated, Kv3.1 Subunit (Ser503), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
