Western Blot (WB)

(Anti-Human PARK7 Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot analysis is shown using Affinity Purified anti-Human PARK7 antibody to detect PARK7 present in Jurkat whole cell lysate. This western blot shows reactivity with human PARK7 protein. Comparison to a molecular weight marker indicates a predominant band of ~28.0 kD. Peptide competition blocks specific reactivity of the antibody with PARK7 (not shown). A 16% Tris-Tricine gel was used to separate proteins prior to transfer to 0.2 micron nitrocellulose. The blot was incubated with a 1:1300 dilution of the antibody overnight at 4C followed by detection using IRDye800 labeled Goat-a-Rabbit IgG [H&L] (diluted 1:5000 for 45 min at RT. IRDye800 fluorescence image was captured using the Odyssey Infrared Imaging System developed by LI-COR. IRDye is a trademark of LI-COR, Inc. Other detection systems will yield similar results.)

NCBI Description

The product of this gene belongs to the peptidase C56 family of proteins. It acts as a positive regulator of androgen receptor-dependent transcription. It may also function as a redox-sensitive chaperone, as a sensor for oxidative stress, and it apparently protects neurons against oxidative stress and cell death. Defects in this gene are the cause of autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease 7. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DJ-1: associated with autosomal recessive early onset parkinsonism. Involved in the oxidative stress response. Three cysteines in DJ-1 may be oxidized to cysteine sulphonic acid in the cellular response to H2O2. Loss of DJ-1 function may lead to neurodegeneration.

Product Notes

The PARK7 park7 (Catalog #AAA241363) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human PARK7 / DJ-1 reacts with African green monkey, Chimpanzee, Human, Zebrafish and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PARK7 / DJ-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA (1:10000 - 1:50000), IHC-P (2.5 ug/ml), WB (1:500 - 1:2000) Usage: Immunohistochemistry: was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary anti.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PARK7 park7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PARK7 / DJ-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
