PARK7 Antibody, DJ-1 Antibody, DJ1 Antibody, Parkinson disease protein 7 Antibody, Park-7 Antibody, Oncogene DJ1 Antibody, Parkinson protein 7 Antibody, Protein DJ-1 Antibody Description: Protects cells against oxidative stress and cell death. Plays a role in regulating expression or stability of the mitochondrial uncoupling proteins SLC25A14 and SLC25A27 in dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra pars compacta and attenuates the oxidative stress induced by calcium entry into the neurons via L-type channels during pacemaking. Eliminates hydrogen peroxide and protects cells against hydrogen peroxide-induced cell death.

NCBI Description

The product of this gene belongs to the peptidase C56 family of proteins. It acts as a positive regulator of androgen receptor-dependent transcription. It may also function as a redox-sensitive chaperone, as a sensor for oxidative stress, and it apparently protects neurons against oxidative stress and cell death. Defects in this gene are the cause of autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease 7. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DJ-1: associated with autosomal recessive early onset parkinsonism. Involved in the oxidative stress response. Three cysteines in DJ-1 may be oxidized to cysteine sulphonic acid in the cellular response to H2O2. Loss of DJ-1 function may lead to neurodegeneration.

Product Notes

The PARK7 / DJ-1 park7 (Catalog #AAA249393) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PARK7 / DJ-1 Antibody (clone 3E8) IHC-plus reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PARK7 / DJ-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (10 ug/ml) WB (1 - 10 ug/ml). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PARK7 / DJ-1 park7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PARK7 / DJ-1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
