Related Product Information for anti-p65 antibody
Transcription factors of the nuclear factor B (NF-B)/Rel family play a pivotal role in inflammatory and immune responses (1, 2). There are five family members in mammals: RelA, c-Rel, RelB, NF-B1 (p105/p50), and NF-B2 (p100/p52). Both p105 and p100 are proteolytically processed by the proteasome to produce p50 and p52, respectively. Rel proteins bind p50 and p52 to form dimeric complexes that bind DNA and regulate transcription. In unstimulated cells, NF-B is sequestered in the cytoplasm by IB inhibitory proteins (3-5). NF-B-activating agents can induce the phosphorylation of IB proteins, targeting them for rapid degradation through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway and releasing NF-B to enter the nucleus where it regulates gene expression (6-8). NIK and IKK+/- (IKK1) regulate the phosphorylation and processing of NF-B2 (p100) to produce p52, which is then translocated to the nucleus (9-11). NF-B assembly with IB, as well as its DNA binding and transcriptional activity, are regulated by p300/CBP acetytransferases that principally target Lys218, Lys221 and Lys310 (12-14). This process is reciprocally regulated by histone deacetylases (HDACs); several HDAC inhibitors have been shown to activate NF-B (12-14).

Product Notes

The p65 (Catalog #AAA4150101) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-p65 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's p65 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500 - 1:2000 IHC: 1:50- 1:200 IF: 1:50- 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the p65 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "p65, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
