NCBI Description

NPTX1 is a member of the neuronal pentraxin gene family. Neuronal pentraxin 1 is similar to the rat NP1 gene which encodes a binding protein for the snake venom toxin taipoxin. Human NPTX1 mRNA is exclusively localized to the nervous system. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

NPTX1: May mediate uptake of degraded synaptic material which could play an important role in synaptic remodeling. Can mediate the neuronal and glial uptake of the snake venom toxin taipoxin.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q25.3

Cellular Component: neuron projection; transport vesicle; mitochondrion; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: metal ion binding

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; central nervous system development; transport; mitochondrial fragmentation during apoptosis; mitochondrial transport

Product Notes

The NPTX1 nptx1 (Catalog #AAA625587) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NPTX1, CT (NP1, Neuronal Pentraxin I, NP-I, 47kD Taipoxin-binding Protein) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NPTX1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:50-1:100 Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NPTX1 nptx1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NPTX1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
