NCBI Description

involved in superoxide generation and serum-stimulated growth [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

NOX1: NOH-1S is a voltage-gated proton channel that mediates the H(+) currents of resting phagocytes and other tissues. It participates in the regulation of cellular pH and is blocked by zinc. NOH-1L is a pyridine nucleotide-dependent oxidoreductase that generates superoxide and might conduct H(+) ions as part of its electron transport mechanism, whereas NOH-1S does not contain an electron transport chain. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Channel, misc.; EC 1.-.-.-; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Oxidoreductase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq32

Cellular Component: cell junction; cytoplasm; early endosome; endosome; NADPH oxidase complex

Molecular Function: metal ion binding; protein binding; Rac GTPase binding; superoxide-generating NADPH oxidase activity; voltage-gated proton channel activity

Biological Process: angiogenesis; cell migration; extracellular matrix organization; hydrogen peroxide metabolic process; intracellular pH elevation; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of integrin biosynthetic process; positive regulation of JNK cascade; positive regulation of MAPK cascade; positive regulation of smooth muscle cell proliferation; proton transport; regulation of systemic arterial blood pressure by renin-angiotensin; response to reactive oxygen species; signal transduction; superoxide anion generation; superoxide metabolic process

Product Notes

The NOX1 nox1 (Catalog #AAA2028234) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Oxidase 1 (NOX1) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Oxidase 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA). Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/mL;1:500-2000 Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL;1:50-200 Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL;1:50-200 Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NOX1 nox1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Oxidase 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
