Related Product Information for anti-ST6GAL1 antibody
ST6GAL1 (beta-galactoside alpha-2-6 sialyl transferase1; also known as ST6N or CD75) is a sialyltransferase mediating the glycosylation of proteins and lipids to form functionally important glycoproteins and glycolipids in the Golgi compartment. It is principally expressed in liver, placenta and skeletal muscle. ST6GAL1 undergoes proteolytic process to generate soluble form from membrane form. Western blot analysis of human liver using this antibody detects both isoforms between 43-50 kDa. Higher molecular weight of bands around 50-70 kDa can also be observed with unknown reason.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of glycosyltransferase family 29. The encoded protein is a type II membrane protein that catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing substrates. The protein, which is normally found in the Golgi but can be proteolytically processed to a soluble form, is involved in the generation of the cell-surface carbohydrate determinants and differentiation antigens HB-6, CD75, and CD76. This gene has been incorrectly referred to as CD75. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]

Uniprot Description

SIAT1: a type II membrane protein that catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing substrates. Is normally found in the trans cisternae of the Golgi but which can be proteolytically processed to a soluble form, is involved in the generation of the cell-surface carbohydrate determinants and differentiation antigens HB-6, CDw75, and CD76. This protein is a member of glycosyltransferase family 29. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found.

Product Notes

The ST6GAL1 st6gal1 (Catalog #AAA7607649) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ST6GAL1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ST6GAL1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), IP. WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:300 IP: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ST6GAL1 st6gal1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ST6GAL1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
