Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of MTIF3 staining in human prostate cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a translation initiation factor that is involved in mitochondrial protein synthesis. Polymorphism in this gene is associated with the onset of Parkinson's disease. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 5. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Uniprot Description

MTIF3: IF-3 binds to the 28S ribosomal subunit and shifts the equilibrum between 55S ribosomes and their 39S and 28S subunits in favor of the free subunits, thus enhancing the availability of 28S subunits on which protein synthesis initiation begins. Belongs to the IF-3 family.

Protein type: Translation; Translation initiation; Mitochondrial

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 13q12.2

Cellular Component: mitochondrion

Molecular Function: protein binding; ribosomal small subunit binding; translation factor activity, nucleic acid binding; translation initiation factor activity

Biological Process: mitochondrial translation; organelle organization and biogenesis; ribosome disassembly

Product Notes

The MTIF3 mtif3 (Catalog #AAA8241894) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-MTIF3 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MTIF3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western Blot: (1/500 - 1/1000); Immunohistochemistry: (1/100 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MTIF3 mtif3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MTIF3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
