Related Product Information for anti-MOCS1 antibody
Molybdenum cofactor biosynthesis is a conserved pathway
leading to the biological activation of molybdenum. The protein
encoded by this gene is involved in this pathway. This gene was
originally thought to produce a bicistronic mRNA with the potential
to produce two proteins (MOCS1A and MOCS1B) from adjacent open
reading frames. However, only the first open reading frame (MOCS1A)
has been found to encode a protein from the putative bicistronic
mRNA, whereas additional splice variants, whose full-length natures
have yet to be determined, are likely to produce a fusion between
the two open reading frames. This gene is defective in patients
with molybdenum cofactor deficiency, type A. A related pseudogene
has been identified on chromosome 16.

Uniprot Description

MOCS1: Isoform MOCS1A and isoform MOCS1B probably form a complex that catalyzes the conversion of a guanosine derivative to precursor Z during molybdenum cofactor biosynthesis. Defects in MOCS1 are the cause of molybdenum cofactor deficiency type A (MOCOD type A); an autosomal recessive disease which leads to the pleiotropic loss of all molybdoenzyme activities and is characterized by severe neurological damage, neonatal seizures and early childhood death. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The MOCS1 mocs1 (Catalog #AAA9205481) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 31-58. The MOCS1 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MOCS1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MOCS1 mocs1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MOCS1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
