Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
IF: 1:100-1:200
IHC: 1:50-1:100
WB: 1:500-1:1000
Biological Significance
MEK is a dual-specificity kinase that phosphorylates the tyrosine and threonine residues on ERKs 1 and 2 required for activation. Two related genes encode MEK1 and MEK2 which differ in their binding to ERKs and, possibly, in their activation profiles.
Cross-Reactivity
Human, Mouse, Rat
Immunogen
MEK1/MEK2 antibody was raised in Rabbit using the peptide sequence around aa 215~219/219~223 (I-D-S-M-A) derived from Human MEK1/MEK2 as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Uniprot Description

MEK2: a dual-specificity protein kinase of the STE7 kinase family. Phosphorylated and activated by Raf and Mos kinases. Phosphorylates a Thr and a Tyr residue in a Thr-Glu-Tyr sequence located in the activation loop of ERK2 and ERK3. A component of MAP kinase signal transduction pathways involved in mitogen growth factor signal transduction.

Product Notes

The MEK1/MEK2 map2k2 (Catalog #AAA835679) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MEK1/MEK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). IF: 1:100-1:200 IHC: 1:50-1:100 WB: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MEK1/MEK2 map2k2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MEK1/MEK2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
