Related Product Information for anti-IFT20 antibody
Eukaryotic cilia are assembled via intraflagellar transport (IFT) in which large protein particles motor along ciliary microtubules. IFT20 functions in the delivery of ciliary membrane proteins from the Golgi complex to the cilium. IFT20 is the smallest member of the intraflagellar transport protein (IFT) complex B. It is involved in cilia formation. IFT20 in the early stage of T-cell development inhibited collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) development through regulating T-cell development and the expression of critical cytokines. The intraflagellar transport protein 20 (IFT20), a component of the intraflagellar transport system, controls polarized traffic during immune synapse assembly. IFT20 is therefore required for the delivery of the intracellular pool of LAT to the immune synapse in naive primary T lymphocytes and for effective T-cell responses in vivo. IFT20 is essential for male fertility and spermiogenesis in mice, and its major function is to transport cargo proteins for sperm flagella formation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a intraflagellar transport protein important for intracellular transport. The encoded protein forms part of a complex involved in trafficking of proteins from the Golgi body, including recycling of immune signalling components (Finetti et al., PubMed: 19855387). This gene is part of a complex set of sense-antisense loci that may be co-regulated. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 14.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2012]

Uniprot Description

IFT20: Part of intraflagellar transport (IFT) particles involved in ciliary process assembly. May play a role in the trafficking of ciliary membrane proteins from the Golgi complex to the cilium. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q11.2

Cellular Component: centriole; microtubule cytoskeleton; Golgi membrane; Golgi apparatus; centrosome; photoreceptor outer segment; photoreceptor connecting cilium; cilium

Molecular Function: protein binding; opsin binding

Biological Process: smoothened signaling pathway; centrosome localization; organelle organization and biogenesis; protein localization in Golgi apparatus; intraflagellar transport; cilium biogenesis; visual learning; kidney development; cardiac muscle cell differentiation

Product Notes

The IFT20 ift20 (Catalog #AAA8103965) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-IFT20 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IFT20 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). IHC-P: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFT20 ift20 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IFT20, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
