Blocked the membrane with 5% Non-fat Milk/ TBS for 1. 5 hour at RT. The membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-GDF8/Myostatin/MSTN antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (Catalog # MBS1753382) at 0. 5 μg/mL overnight at 4 degree C, then washed with TBS-0. 1%Tween 3 times with 5 minutes each and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:5000 for 1. 5 hour at RT. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit (Catalog # MBS176460) with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for GDF8/Myostatin/MSTN at approximately 50KD. The expected band size for GDF8/Myostatin/MSTN is at 50KD. )

Related Product Information for anti-MSTN antibody
Myostatin (also known as growth differentiation factor 8, abbreviated GDF-8) is a myokine, a protein produced and released by myocytes that acts on muscle cells' autocrine function to inhibit myogenesis: muscle cell growth and differentiation. In humans it is encoded by the MSTN gene. This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate each subunit of the disulfide-linked homodimer. This protein negatively regulates skeletal muscle cell proliferation and differentiation. Mutations in this gene are associated with increased skeletal muscle mass in humans and other mammals.

Product Notes

The MSTN mstn (Catalog #AAA1753382) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GDF8/Myostatin/MSTN Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GDF8/Myostatin/MSTN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). WB: 0.25-0.5ug/ml|Human, Mouse, Rat| IHC-P: 2-5ug/ml|Human|. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MSTN mstn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GDF8/Myostatin/MSTN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
