NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene product is a component of a nucleolar small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) particle thought to participate in the first step in processing preribosomal RNA. It is associated with the U3, U8, and U13 small nuclear RNAs and is located in the dense fibrillar component (DFC) of the nucleolus. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal repetitive domain that is rich in glycine and arginine residues, like fibrillarins in other species. Its central region resembles an RNA-binding domain and contains an RNP consensus sequence. Antisera from approximately 8% of humans with the autoimmune disease scleroderma recognize fibrillarin. Uniprot Description
FBL: Involved in pre-rRNA processing. Utilizes the methyl donor S-adenosyl-L-methionine to catalyze the site-specific 2'- hydroxyl methylation of ribose moieties in pre-ribosomal RNA. Site specificity is provided by a guide RNA that base pairs with the substrate. Methylation occurs at a characteristic distance from the sequence involved in base pairing with the guide RNA. Interacts with NOLC1. Component of box C/D small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (snoRNP) particles that contain NHP2L1, FBL, NOP5 and NOP56, plus a guide RNA. It is associated with the U3, U8, U13, X and Y small nuclear RNAs. Component of several ribosomal and nucleolar protein complexes. Interacts with PRMT5 and UTP20. Interacts with DDX5. Belongs to the methyltransferase superfamily. Fibrillarin family.

Product Notes
The FLRN fbl (Catalog #AAA6476117) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Fibrillarin, ID (FBL, 34kD Nucleolar Scleroderma Antigen, rRNA 2'-O-methyltransferase fibrillarin, FLRN, FIB1, Nop1p, RNU3IP1) (MaxLight 550) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Fibrillarin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:50-1:100 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FLRN fbl for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fibrillarin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
