Related Product Information for anti-CHRNA10 antibody
CHRNA10 is an ionotropic receptor with a probable role in the modulation of auditory stimuli. Agonist binding may induce an extensive change in conformation that affects all subunits and leads to opening of an ion-conducting channel across the plasma membrane. The channel is permeable to a range of divalent cations including calcium, the influx of which may activate a potassium current which hyperpolarizes the cell membrane. In the ear, this may lead to a reduction in basilar membrane motion, altering the activity of auditory nerve fibers and reducing the range of dynamic hearing. This may protect against acoustic trauma.

Uniprot Description

nAChRA10: Ionotropic receptor with a probable role in the modulation of auditory stimuli. Belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.9) family. Acetylcholine receptor (TC 1.A.9.1) subfamily. Alpha- 10/CHRNA10 sub-subfamily.

Protein type: Channel, ligand-gated; Channel, cation; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.5

Cellular Component: nicotinic acetylcholine-gated receptor-channel complex; postsynaptic membrane; membrane; axon; perikaryon; cell junction

Molecular Function: calcium channel activity; nicotinic acetylcholine-activated cation-selective channel activity; receptor binding

Biological Process: inner ear morphogenesis; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; detection of mechanical stimulus involved in sensory perception of sound; synaptic transmission, cholinergic; regulation of cell proliferation

Product Notes

The CHRNA10 chrna10 (Catalog #AAA9211273) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 179-206. The CHRNA10 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CHRNA10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). IHC~~1:10~50 WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHRNA10 chrna10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CHRNA10, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
