Affinity Purified
Synonyms
CHK1; Polyclonal Antibody; Anti-Yeast CHK1 Antibody; Yeast CHK1; anti-CHK1 antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Rabbit
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This affinity purified antibody is directed against yeast CHK1 protein. The product was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. Reactivity occurs against yeast CHK1 protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest little to no cross reactivity with this protein from other sources.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified
Form/Format
Liquid; PBS, pH 7.4 with 0.05% sodium azide.

Applicable Applications for anti-CHK1 antibody
Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes
This affinity purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and by western blot. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a predominant band approximately 40-60 kDa in size corresponding to CHK1 by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.
Immunogen
This affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding aa 312-327 of S. cerevisiae CHK1.
Preparation and Storage
This product is stable for several weeks at 4 degree C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at-20 degree C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Expiration date is one (1) year from date of receipt.

Related Product Information for anti-CHK1 antibody
CHK1 (also known as serine/threonine-protein kinase CHK1 and checkpoint kinase 1) is involved in cell cycle arrest when DNA damage has occurred or when unligated DNA is present. The kinase controls phosphorylation and abundance of PDS1 to prevent anaphase entry. Also helps prevent mitotic exit. CHK1 is localized within the nucleus.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is required for checkpoint mediated cell cycle arrest in response to DNA damage or the presence of unreplicated DNA. This protein acts to integrate signals from ATM and ATR, two cell cycle proteins involved in DNA damage responses, that also associate with chromatin in meiotic prophase I. Phosphorylation of CDC25A protein phosphatase by this protein is required for cells to delay cell cycle progression in response to double-strand DNA breaks. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

Product Notes

The CHK1 (Catalog #AAA4156730) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CHK1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). This affinity purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and by western blot. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a predominant band approximately 40-60 kDa in size corresponding to CHK1 by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHK1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CHK1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
