Function
Catalyzes the biosynthesis of phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns) as well as PtdIns:inositol exchange reaction. May thus act to reduce an excessive cellular PtdIns content. The exchange activity is due to the reverse reaction of PtdIns synthase and is dependent on CMP, which is tightly bound to the enzyme.
Cellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Tissue Location
Detected in placenta (at protein level). Widely expressed. Higher expression in adult liver and skeletal muscle, slightly lower levels seen in pancreas, kidney, lung, placenta, brain, heart, leukocyte, colon, small intestine, ovary, testis, prostate, thymus and spleen. In fetus, expressed in kidney, liver, lung and brain.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for anti-CDIPT antibody
CDIPT is a protein which is phosphatidylinositol breakdown products that are ubiquitous second messengers that function downstream of many G protein-coupled receptors and tyrosine kinases regulating cell growth, calcium metabolism, and protein kinase C activity. Two enzymes, CDP-diacylglycerol synthase and phosphatidylinositol synthase, are involved in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylinositol. Phosphatidylinositol synthase, a member of the CDP-alcohol phosphatidyl transferase class-I family, is an integral membrane protein found on the cytoplasmic side of the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus.

NCBI Description

Phosphatidylinositol breakdown products are ubiquitous second messengers that function downstream of many G protein-coupled receptors and tyrosine kinases regulating cell growth, calcium metabolism, and protein kinase C activity. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]

Uniprot Description

CDIPT: Catalyzes the biosynthesis of phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns) as well as PtdIns:inositol exchange reaction. May thus act to reduce an excessive cellular PtdIns content. The exchange activity is due to the reverse reaction of PtdIns synthase and is dependent on CMP, which is tightly bound to the enzyme. Belongs to the CDP-alcohol phosphatidyltransferase class-I family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CDIPT cdipt (Catalog #AAA9208622) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 99-125. The CDIPT Antibody (Center) reacts with Human, Mouse Predicted Reactivity: Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CDIPT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000 IHC-P~~1:50~100 FC~~1:10~50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDIPT cdipt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CDIPT, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
