Related Product Information for anti-Casp12 antibody
Three distinct signaling pathways lead to programmed cell death (apoptosis). The death receptor and mitochondrion pathways are the mains, in which the key apoptotic proteases capase-8 and caspase-9, respectively, are involved. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress is the third apoptotic pathway and caspase-12 is involved (1,2). Caspase-12 is localized to the ER but not to cytoplasm or mitochondrion. Caspase-12 is activated by ER stress, including disruption of ER calcium homeostasis, and mediates ER stress-induced apoptosis. Caspase-12 is co-localized to the ER with several proteins that are involved in Alzheimer's disease including g-secretase presenilin and b-amyloid precursor protein (APP). Caspase-12 mediates cytotoxicity induced by amyloid-b. Caspase-12 is ubiquitously expressed in mouse tissues (1).

cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase); involved with the terminal stage of apoptosis [RGD]

Uniprot Description

CASP12: Has no protease activity. May reduce cytokine release in response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide during infections. Reduces activation of NF-kappa-B in response to TNF. Detected in heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, small intestine, spleen, stomach, thymus and testis. Belongs to the peptidase C14A family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Casp12 casp12 (Catalog #AAA629331) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Caspase 12, IN reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Caspase 12, IN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemisty and Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml. Immunohistochemistry: 2ug/ml for mouse liver tissue. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Casp12 casp12 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Caspase 12, IN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
