Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Western Blot (WB)
(CARTPT Antibody (N-term) western blot analysis in mouse heart tissue lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the CARTPT antibody detected the CARTPT protein (arrow).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(CARTPT Antibody (N-term) immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human brain tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of CARTPT Antibody (N-term) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate multiple biologically active peptides. These peptides play a role in appetite, energy balance, maintenance of body weight, reward and addiction, and the stress response. Expression of a similar gene transcript in rodents is upregulated following administration of cocaine and amphetamine. Mutations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to obesity in humans. Uniprot Description
CARTPT: Satiety factor closely associated with the actions of leptin and neuropeptide y; this anorectic peptide inhibits both normal and starvation-induced feeding and completely blocks the feeding response induced by neuropeptide Y and regulated by leptin in the hypothalamus. It promotes neuronal development and survival in vitro. Belongs to the CART family.
Protein type: Secreted; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted, signal peptide; Hormone
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q13.2
Cellular Component: extracellular space; secretory granule
Molecular Function: protein binding
Biological Process: activation of MAPKK activity; adult feeding behavior; cell glucose homeostasis; cell-cell signaling; cellular response to starvation; circadian regulation of gene expression; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; negative regulation of appetite; negative regulation of bone resorption; negative regulation of osteoclast differentiation; neuropeptide signaling pathway; positive regulation of blood pressure; positive regulation of epinephrine secretion; positive regulation of transmission of nerve impulse; regulation of insulin secretion; signal transduction; synaptic transmission

Product Notes
The CARTPT cartpt (Catalog #AAA6280829) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CARTPT, NT (CARTPT, CART, Cocaine-and amphetamine-regulated transcript protein, CART(1-39), CART(42-89)) (FITC) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CARTPT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:10-50 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CARTPT cartpt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CARTPT, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
