NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
inhibits neuronal apoptosis; may provide neuroprotection against ischemic brian injury [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Bcl-xL: an antiapoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family. Located at the outer mitochondrial membrane and regulates outer mitochondrial membrane channel (VDAC) opening. VDAC regulates mitochondrial membrane potential, and thus controls the production of reactive oxygen species and release of cytochrome C by mitochondria, both of which are potent inducers of cell apoptosis. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been reported.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "B-Cell CLL/Lymphoma 2 Like Protein (Bcl2L), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
