Principle of the Assay: NUP155 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-NUP155 antibody and an NUP155-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with NUP155-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the NUP155 concentration since NUP155 from samples and NUP155-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-NUP155 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by NUP155 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind NUP155-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The NUP155 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Nucleoporins are proteins that play an important role in the assembly and functioning of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) which regulates the movement of macromolecules across the nuclear envelope (NE). The protein encoded by this gene plays a role in the fusion of NE vesicles and formation of the double membrane NE. The protein may also be involved in cardiac physiology and may be associated with the pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene. A pseudogene associated with this gene is located on chromosome 6. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]
Uniprot Description

Product Notes
The Canine NUP155 nup155 (Catalog #AAA744894) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA744894 ELISA Kit recognizes Canine NUP155. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nucleoporin 155kDa, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
