Related Product Information for anti-CD28 antibody
Anti-human CD28 binds the 44kDa MW cell surface protein on the surface of most T cells. CD28 acts as the ligand for the B7/BB-1 molecule on the surface of activated B cells. B7/BB-1 costimulates T cells through CD28, along with CD2 and CD3.CD28 antigen is a disulfide-linked homodimeric glycoprotein. The CD28 antigen is present on approximately 60%-80% T lymphocytes (95% of CD4 and 50% of CD8 lymphocytes). CD28 regulates the expression of cytokines by T cells, not only IL-2, but also IL-1 alpha and CSF-1, usually synthesized by accessory cells. CD28 functions as a cell adhesion molecule (CAM) for certain T cell subsets.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is essential for T-cell proliferation and survival, cytokine production, and T-helper type-2 development. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]

Uniprot Description

Function: Involved in T-cell activation, the induction of cell proliferation and cytokine production and promotion of T-cell survival.

Subunit structure: Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Interacts with DUSP14. Binds to CD80/B7-1 and CD86/B7-2/B70. Ref.13

Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

Tissue specificity: Expressed in T-cells and plasma cells, but not in less mature B-cells.

Sequence similarities: Contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain.

Product Notes

The CD28 cd28 (Catalog #AAA396663) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD28 PE reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD28 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD28 cd28 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD28, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
