Related Product Information for NT-3 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for NT-3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any NT-3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NT-3 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of NT-3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the neurotrophin family, that controls survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. This protein is closely related to both nerve growth factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor. It may be involved in the maintenance of the adult nervous system, and may affect development of neurons in the embryo when it is expressed in human placenta. NTF3-deficient mice generated by gene targeting display severe movement defects of the limbs. The mature peptide of this protein is identical in all mammals examined including human, pig, rat and mouse. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Seems to promote the survival of visceral and proprioceptive sensory neurons.

Product Notes

The Mouse NT-3 ntf3 (Catalog #AAA703563) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA703563 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse NT-3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurotrophin 3, NT-3, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
