(Western Blot of Netrin1 (MBS543004) antibody with PC-NTRN samples. Antibody Dilution 1:500 in DiluObufferDilutions are for reference only. Applications not listed above are not necessarily precluded from working with this antibody. Investigators intending to use an application that has not been verified can request a complimentary sample.)
Netrins control guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons;serve as a survival factor via its association with its receptors which prevent the initiation of apoptosis;Involved in tumorigenesis by regulating apoptosis.
Netrin-1 (NTRN1) also known as axonal guidance protein (NTRN1) is a diffuse protein made by the floor plate cells that belongs to the Netrirt family of proteins that guides axons to or away from the midline of the developing nervous system (1). ln mammals, netrins are ligands for DCC receptor and the UNCS receptor homologues. Netrin-'1 , located at human chromosome 17p13-p12, attracts spinal commissural axons and repels trochlear axons in vitro. ln mice, deficlencies in Netrin-1 led to defects in spinal commissural axon projections (2). ln the dorsal and intermediate spinal cord, it prevents DRG axons from being directed towards the dorsal spinal cord (3). Netrin-1 and its associated receptors play a key role cell death and tumor formation. Netrin-1/receptor pair induces apoptosis in cultured cells and also acts as regulators of tumor development (4). These properties of Netrin-1 have been implicated in colorectal tumorigenesis by regulating apoptosis (5). ln the embryo, Netrin-1 is widely exDressed in the developing nervous system and in mesodermal tissues. ln adults, it is highly expressed in heart, small intestine, colon, liver and prostrate. It is also expressed in brain tumors and neuroblastomas. Netrin-1 is approximately a 73kDa protein. The Netrinl-selective antibody (MBS540531) was generated against a peptide near C-terminal end of the Netrinl protein using cyclic peptide methodology for generating antibodies, which results in higher titer and specificity (6). MBS540531 was used to develop FITC-conjugated NTRNl-selective antibodies (MBS540531). Western blot positive control samples and antigenic blocklng peptide are available. The affinity purified mono-specific polyclonal antibody to NTRNl strongly labels a 73kDa proteln in western blot positive control (MBS543004) samples and invarious tissues examined. Antibodies can be conjugated to secondary enzymes or fluorescent probes upon request as an additional charge.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Netrin is included in a family of laminin-related secreted proteins. The function of this gene has not yet been defined; however, netrin is thought to be involved in axon guidance and cell migration during development. Mutations and loss of expression of netrin suggest that variation in netrin may be involved in cancer development. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
NTN1: Netrins control guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons. Its association with either DCC or some UNC5 receptors will lead to axon attraction or repulsion, respectively. It also serve as a survival factor via its association with its receptors which prevent the initiation of apoptosis. Involved in tumorigenesis by regulating apoptosis.

Product Notes
The NTN1 ntn1 (Catalog #AAA543004) is a Positive Control and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Netrin 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NTN1 ntn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Netrin 1, Positive Control" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
