Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for LECT1 elisa kit
Description: This Mouse Leukocyte cell derived chemotaxin 1 (LECT1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate LECT1 in samples. An antibody specific for LECT1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any LECT1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for LECT1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of LECT1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: LECT1 is a glycosylated transmembrane protein that is cleaved to form a mature, secreted protein. The N-terminus of the precursor protein shares characteristics with other surfactant proteins and is sometimes called chondrosurfactant protein although no biological activity has yet been defined for it. The C-terminus of the precursor protein contains a 25 kDa mature protein called leukocyte cell-derived chemotaxin-1 or chondromodulin-1. The mature protein promotes chondrocyte growth and inhibits angiogenesis. LECT1 expressed in the avascular zone of prehypertrophic cartilage and its expression decreases during chondrocyte hypertrophy and vascular invasion. The mature protein likely plays a role in endochondral bone development by permitting cartilaginous anlagen to be vascularized and replaced by bone.

Uniprot Description

Bifunctional growth regulator that stimulates the growth of cultured chondrocytes in the presence of basic fibroblast growth factor (FGF) but inhibits the growth of cultured vascular endothelial cells. May contribute to the rapid growth of cartilage and vascular invasion prior to the replacement of cartilage by bone during endochondral bone development (). Inhibits in vitro tube formation and mobilization of endothelial cells (). Plays a role as antiangiogenic factor in cardiac valves to suppress neovascularization.

Product Notes

The Mouse LECT1 lect1 (Catalog #AAA9717798) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9717798 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse LECT1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Leukocyte Cell Derived Chemotaxin 1 (LECT1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
